An important feature of the PSE156G is its ability to provide high power over all four-pair PoE injectors, Ethernet cables, which can greatly improve performance and efficiency compared to dual-core (two-pair) products. The four-pair PoE injector enables the PSE802-156G to deliver 60W of power while maintaining a low current level of 600mA. This is in stark contrast to comparable two-pair wire devices, which deliver up to 1.2A of current while delivering 60W of power. In view of this, this higher efficiency PSE802-156G can provide 51W of power for PD losses when using CAT5 cable, and only 30W for a two-pair cable solution. In addition to its 60W operating mode, the PSE156G can also be used to power two-pair wire devices up to 30W. In this case, the midspan still uses all four pairs of CAT5 and above cables, allowing it to waste up to 50% less power on the cable. Compared to traditional two-core solutions, PoE systems with PSE156G can reduce power loss by up to 15%.
